My Kitchen Style

There are many kitchen styles to choose from, including traditional, contemporary, modern, farmhouse, industrial, shaker and more. Choosing a kitchen style is a personal decision that depends on your personal taste, lifestyle, and budget.

Do keep in mind the quality of the cabinets that you are looking at. Just because the doors might look the same to the untrained eye it doesn't mean to say that they are... so be careful.

Here are some considerations that can help you decide which style is right for you:

Consider your budget: We know this can be the elephant in the room for some folks. It shouldn't be. By telling us your planned budget from the start we will know what quality of product to offer you. It will save you and us an awful lot of wasted time apart from anything else. Your budget will guide us to giving you exactly what you want within a relative degree of precision. Some kitchen styles can be more expensive than others, so it's important to choose a style that fits within your budget. We know it's obvious really but it still needs to be said: a high-end custom kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances will be more expensive than a basic, no-frills kitchen.

Consider the quality of the product: are you going for a vinyl wrap or a painted finish? Solid wood, MDF, particle board, chipboard, venner chipboard or melomine? There are so many to choose from. What's the thickness or the door, the shelf, the back board, the sides? Even your choice of door hinges will have a big impact on price.

Consider the architecture of your home: The style of your kitchen should complement the architecture of your home. For example, a traditional kitchen may not look as good in a modern home.

Consider the colour schemes: Gloss or matt finish? Earthy natural tones, muted hues, warm undertones or something refreshingly bright & light? Easy clean? Are you a messy washer upper (yes this could have a bearing on the finish you choose) or do you have a dishwasher? Does the colour go with your surroundings, reflect enough light and not dominate the room?

Think about your lifestyle: Your lifestyle can also influence the style of your kitchen. If you love to cook and entertain, a spacious kitchen with an island and plenty of counter space may be ideal. If you prefer a more minimalist lifestyle, a sleek and simple kitchen design may be more suitable.

Look at current design trends: Keeping up with current design trends can be helpful when choosing a kitchen style. However, it's important to choose a style that you love and that will stand the test of time, rather than one that's simply trendy at the moment.

Ultimately, the style of your kitchen should reflect your personal taste and lifestyle while fitting within your budget. Take your time to research different styles and consult with a professional designer to help you make the best decision for your home. We would love to hear from you & be considered for helping you with your adventure.
